As an underlying waterproof layer in window and door installation (secondary sealing)
The surface film holds the tape together but at the same time allows the tape to be elastically formable with the butyl adhesive and the substrate. The adhesive surface on the underside is protected by three separate protective films that are removed during installation. The narrower one is about 35mm and is suitable to turn outward in this installation for folding out onto the wall's wind protection.
The surface must be smooth, dry, frost-free, clean, and grease-free. More porous surfaces with looser and less secure surfaces should be primed with asphalt primer K-80 or equivalent binding surface treatment before application.
Measure the required tape length for the bottom and the lift on the left and right sides. Allow at least 150mm* per lift and side.
Fold in the respective side's task on the cut tape strip at the left and right edge. Place the strip at the bottom of the opening.
The printed surface film should be facing up and towards the opening. The adhesive surface's protective film should be downwards and against the frame! Ensure that the tape protrudes from the opening 30 – max 40mm*.
The protective film on the underside of the tape is split. Remove and tear off the rear film on the strip fixed in the opening. Press the rear part downwards and up on each side.
Ensure that the tape first adheres to the horizontal surface. Make sure it is firmly pressed into both corners and then continue up the sides.
Then remove the front and second protective film. Press and evenly push out and down the remaining part of the tape. Finish with the outer edges over the outer corners onto the outside wall.
Fold out the tape towards the outer wind protection layer. Start at the tape's angles/bends (right and left side) and finish with the rest of the tape edges. Press firmly!
Finish by securing the entire taping with a pressure roller for optimal adhesion and durability.
