Local music festival organized by enterprising youth

Konkaronka is a music festival organized by the UF company Radiokakan UF, consisting of Alva Nordell, Hannah Näslund, Cornelia Boman, and Tyra Aspegren - four ambitious girls from Eksjö's high school who aimed to make live music accessible to young people. Their initiative to arrange Konkaronka 2024 stemmed from their passion and drive to create an inclusive environment where the joy of music could be shared and celebrated by everyone.

The festival that took place on April 19-20, 2024, at Vetlanda Folkets Park, became a gathering place for approximately 70 enthusiastic visitors, including ten vibrant music acts and a team of 20 officials.

"Now the festival is over and oh my god, it was so much fun! We at Radiokakan UF think this has been an incredible experience that wouldn't have been possible without all the support we've received in the process," says Hannah Näslund from Radiokakan UF.

Festivalen Konkaronka som Radiokakan UF arrangerade blev en succé. Radiokakan UF utgörs av tjejerna Hannah Näslund, Cornelia Boman, Tyra Aspegren och Alva Nordell från Eksjö gymnasium och framgångsreceptet som krävdes var, förutom Radiokakan UF själva, en tilltalande lokal, två nävar band (gärna med lite olika musikgenrer), en stor drös med hjälpsamma funktionärer, kasta i en nypa försäljning av mat och dryck och rör sedan försiktigt ihop alltsammans i Vetlandas Folkets park.

Finally, sprinkle in a large group of eager, happy spectators who have been longing to dance and sing in front of live performances and TADAAA, you have created a recipe for a successful festival.

You are stars!

In addition to these photos taken by Liam Runström Jardbring, you can also see photographic evidence of the successful event on social media. Some of the bands that took the stage made their Småland debut with Konkaronka, while other bands had a shorter journey from places like Jönköping, Eksjö, and more.

For those who want to listen to the music offered, the booked bands were as follows:
Westward, DJ CH@M, BB Amore, The Chauffeur, Year without summer, Recreant, Helas, Sputnik Falls, Antimateria, Staf, Soccer moms and & the bridge. The latter is an alternative rock band consisting of the four organizers themselves.

The conclusion of Konkaronka 2024 can be the declaration of love that Radiokakan UF posted on social media to everyone who participated with words like "You are stars! Thank you for supporting and believing in us!" along with the answer given to the question of whether there will be another festival already next year?

”"We are currently discussing whether this is something we want to do again, we'll see how it goes!" concludes a happy Hannah Näslund.
