Balcony membrane
The balcony membrane is a system of a self-adhesive surface felt consisting of a robust polyester core with good strength properties and high dimensional stability, as well as an edge-glued underlay felt with full adhesion to the surface felt. The product is fastened according to instructions on a solid wooden base or on concrete.
Optimally self-adhesive
Down to 0.5° roof pitch
Application Area
The product is intended for low-sloped balconies and terraces when you do not want to use weldable products. The minimum slope is at least 0.8ᵒ, which is a ratio of 1:80. The roof should be equipped with external drainage.
Installation
The substrate can be tongue and groove wood paneling, wood elements, plywood, or concrete. The substrate should be dry and even. The surface slope should be at least 1:80, and the water should be directed away over the front edge of the balcony. If the substrate is concrete, the concrete surface should be treated with K-80 asphalt primer, which must be dry before the underlay felt is installed. Where the balcony floor and wall meet, a triangular strip is attached, or the corner angle is leveled in conjunction with any concrete casting. The underlay felt is always installed in the same direction and in the direction of the water flow. The joints in the underlay and surface felt must not overlap each other (either tightly next to each other or halfway on the underlay felt).
NOTE! The eave flashings are installed on the underlay felt. For more detailed installation instructions for underlay felt and surface felt, see the separate installation guide.
Important!
- Store and transport upright. Should be covered when stored outdoors. Must not be stacked.
- The installation temperature should be at least +10°C. If the temperature is below +10°C, store the roofing felt for 1-2 days at room temperature before roofing, and heat the adhesive surfaces with a hot air gun. Ensure that the adhesive in the seams of the underlay felt adheres and that the surface felt adheres tightly to the underlay felt and eaves flashings. Installation must not be carried out at temperatures below +5°C.
- For the best results during assembly, always ensure precision at joints, endings, or penetrations. These are the areas with the greatest risk for potential future moisture problems.
