4 common mistakes when choosing roofing underlayment
Mistakes are often both costly and time-consuming. Therefore, we have compiled a list of four common mistakes that you can avoid making. Additionally, we have a great guide for roofing underlays that you can use to mix and match correctly among roof products.
1. Use the correct type of underlay for roofs with welded waterproofing membranes. A special type of underlay is required for welded waterproofing membranes. We recommend our underlay T-Roof YEM 1000.
2. Don't forget to double-check that staples and nails have the correct length when using open fastenings – it quickly leads to extra work.
3. Do not neglect fastenings and nailing before the outer covering is in place – bad weather can lead to rain leakage.
4. Difficult-to-install glued joints and wind-exposed locations should not be underestimated in colder weather. Install with care and plan to avoid the joint, for example, splitting open.
