Crawl Space Foam
Crawl space foam is made from extruded and foamed LD polyethylene (LD-PE) with completely closed cells. The well-adapted cell structure has good compressive and tear strength, as well as good insulation properties. The product is aging and alkali resistant.

Crawl space insulation for use as condensation protection, vapor barrier, and radon gas brake in crawl spaces.
Crawl space foam is an effective moisture and radon protection system. Intended use is for new construction and renovation as insulation for normally outdoor air-ventilated crawl spaces. It works either passively, significantly improving the crawl space climate up to 75% relative humidity, or in an active system solution together with a heating cable for optimal moisture protection (for relative humidity 75% and above). The system prevents mold and rot in crawl spaces with built-in condensation protection (ground insulation) and moisture protection (vapor barrier). In both the passive and active systems, the diffusion-tight crawl space foam can be sealed according to the system's instructions, forming an effective barrier against radon gas.
The crawl space floor or other structural parts act as cooling (ground radiation) mainly during spring/summer when the outdoor air is warmer and most humid. Ground radiation can then cause condensation on the subfloor or foundation walls, leading to potential mold and rot problems. Crawl space foam insulates against ground radiation and reduces incoming ground moisture in the crawl space.

Important!
- As a splicing aid, for extra sealing or for repairs, T-Butyl Splice Tape is used.
- The ventilation and air exchange of the crawl space should be outdoor air ventilated and is assumed to be according to standard practice.
- The function as a radon barrier is based on normal risk areas and the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building and Planning's requirement of a maximum of 200 Bq/m.
- For the installation of a radon barrier, also carefully consider the accompanying document "Details for installation as a radon barrier".”
- Storage should be protected from sunlight (UV radiation) and higher temperatures (>+35°C) as this shortens the lifespan.
