Application Area

The surface felt Pintari is suitable for performing batten coverage (installation in the direction of the roof slope with triangular battens in the same direction), with a slope of at least 1:3 (approximately 18°) in double-layer coverage for both new and old roofs (roofing underlay or surface felt underneath). The ratio 1:3 means that the roof slope is one meter over a three-meter distance. Pinatri surface felt is also used as a valley sheet for roof shingles or as collar material at chimneys or strip material for cold-glued surface felt and shingles.

Installation

No special tools or devices are needed for the assembly. The felt is nailed to the substrate hidden with roofing felt nails (at least 2.5 x 25 mm). Nail spacing 100 mm. No nailing should be visible after installation. Joints and overlaps are glued with sealing glue K-36 (or T-Fix). For list coverage, in addition to the surface felt, strips of the same and triangular strips in wood are used.

For detailed instructions on roof installation, see the inside of the roll's banner or separate installation instructions (referring to strip coverage). Read the instructions carefully before starting the work!

Important!

  • At temperatures below +5°C, store the surface paper at room temperature for 1-2 days before installation. During installation, the sheets of the rolls should be stretched evenly and smoothly with careful pressure on all glued edges!
  • When laying on old roofing felt, damages/blisters should be repaired for the best result. Cut away, dry, and possibly repair with sealing adhesive K-36 (or T-Fix).
  • For the best results during assembly, always ensure precision at joints, endings, or pass-throughs. These are the areas with the greatest risk for potential future moisture problems.
  • Store and transport upright. Should be covered when stored outdoors. Do not stack!
  • Be mindful to gently load the surface, especially during installation, and immediately address any damage to the surface layer. Sunny and hot days should be avoided during installation as the warm slate surface can be damaged, resulting in a permanently poorer appearance.
  • The surface felt Pintari is diffusion-tight and when mounted on a wooden substrate, the space underneath should be ventilated according to practice.
  • Use the correct amount of adhesive during assembly (sealant K-36). Excessive use risks damaging the surface layer and seeping through the glued parts, resulting in permanent deformations.
  • Mechanical fastening should be hot-dip galvanized roofing felt nails at least dim 2.5 x 25 mm. The length of the nail should be adjusted to the entire thickness of the substrate and penetrate the wooden substrate by at least 2 mm on the underside.
