X-Foil Duo
X-Foil Duo is a puncture-resistant air and vapor barrier or a suspended water-draining underlay roof made of a woven HD polyethylene, coated on both sides with a layer of LD polyethylene. The material is heat, UV, and alkali stabilized. The product is UV-protected to meet the requirements during the construction period.

Application Area
Reinforced air and vapor barrier intended to be used as a combined air and vapor barrier/penetration protection or water-draining underlay roof (on battened roof structures under roof tiles or profiled sheet metal with a minimum roof pitch of 14° (1:4).
Installation
Installed as a reinforced air and vapor barrier in the ceiling, clamped between the roof beam and nail battens. Installed as a sub-roof over rafters with a maximum center distance of 1200 mm, freely without a base. Fastened with nail battens and support battens. Seal all joints with T-Flex Construction Sealing Tape to achieve a completely air and vapor-tight construction. For approved installation, see the respective installation instructions.
Important!
- Rolls should be stored protected from sunlight (UV) and precipitation.
- TECCA T-Butyl splice tape is an approved splicing aid and sealant.
- Details regarding the safety fabric such as overlap joints, fastenings, pipes, and cable penetrations or, for example, beams should be sealed airtight with approved aids for the inner climate shield system, such as tape, grommets, sealant, or double-sided tape. See system description!
- Mechanical fastening (staples/nails) of the foil (safety fabric) must always be galvanized. Fastening
with staples should be taped for best airtightness (with T-Flex). - Safety fabric is stored and kept packaged/protected from sunlight (UV radiation) or constantly higher temperatures (>+35°C). The film has freely exposed (not built-in) UV protection that corresponds to the construction time (< 6 months).
- As a fall-through safe air and vapor barrier in the ceiling, the requirement for fall-through safety is met when all fixing such as nailing and battening of the membrane is complete! The maximum center distance for roof beams is 1200 mm.
- Rolls should be stored on a flat and dry surface and protected from sunlight (UV) and precipitation.
- After installation, the X-Foil Duo, regardless of the area of use, must be completely enclosed and protected from sunlight (UV-).
- The underlay roof is installed hanging over the rafters with a slight sag. Not completely flat on solid wooden surfaces!
- The roof's surface layer determines the minimum roof slope for the underlay, but always at least 14° (1:4).
- X-Foil Roof is a diffusion-tight underlay roof where optimal function requires ventilation (at least 25 mm). Ventilation should occur from the eaves to the ridge.
- X-Foil Roof meets the requirement for fall-through safety when all fixing such as nailing and battening (nail and load-bearing battens) of the membrane is complete! The maximum c-distance for roof beams is 1200 mm.
- The use of TECCA Distans for underlay roofing is recommended to be centered under at least every other support batten (approximately 2 pieces/m2 of roof) for better fixation of the sheet and its overlap between the rafters.
