T-Wind Basic
T-Wind Basic is a modern wind barrier that forms the outer climate shield on the outside of the insulation in exterior wall constructions. T-Wind Basic is alkali and aging resistant with a diffusion-open polyethylene barrier protected by two polypropylene fiber cloths (nonwoven). The fabric is elastic and soft to work with, and the white and light color ensures that light is let in during construction and exposes the underlying structure.
Approved wind shelter according to IQD128
Aging resistant for at least 50 years
Application Area
T-Wind Basic is primarily used as a wind barrier (external climate screen) in exterior walls but also in roofs with air gaps (parallel roofs) and as a bottom fabric in joists for crawl or pier foundations in thermally insulated buildings. T-Wind Basic contributes to an airtight external climate screen while allowing moisture to escape thanks to its diffusion-open properties
Installation
The T-Wind Basic wind protection should be installed in a system with airtight joint aids such as sealing tape T-Flex Outdoor, Airtight-T, or T-Stos butyl for penetrations, etc. (see separate installation instructions).
Generally, the climate screen is attached to the outside of the insulated frame. The attachment should be done sparingly with corrosion-protected staples and then fixed with nailed battens (see separate installation instructions). The attachment can also be done with double-sided joint tape T-Duo/joint band T-Butyl along entire attachment lines where mechanical fastening is not possible. With this attachment method, the strength against, for example, wind impact may decrease. For airtight connections to concrete surfaces, double-sided joint tape T-Duo Concrete is recommended. For more complicated seals and adhesive needs, T-Fix adhesive and sealing compound can be used.
Important!
- Splicing aids such as tape or splice bands must be approved for use in systems with T-Wind Basic.
- Fasteners such as staples or nails must be corrosion-protected.
- Storage and warehousing should always be done packaged or in a way that the wind protection fabric is protected from UV radiation and higher temperatures.
- Poor weather conditions during installation are always a
risk factor for moisture damage. - When mounting with double-sided tape (Joint Tape T-Duo/Joint Band T-Butyl), the strength against, for example, wind impact may decrease.
- T-Wind Basic has UV protection (sunlight) equivalent to a construction period of 3 months, as a wind barrier. Thereafter
the wind barrier is covered by the facade. For permanent water tightness (W2), under
During the summer months, UV exposure should be reduced to a maximum of 6 weeks.
