T-Roof Evo
T-Roof Evo is constructed with a robust polyester core, coated with SBS-bitumen and polypropylene felt. An adhesive edge of bitumen with protective foil, the foil is removed during jointing and installation. Mechanical fastening (roofing nails/staples) is required on the exposed edge and the fastening is always concealed.
Unique adhesive edge for faster assembly
Down to 6° (approx. 1:10) roof pitch
Lightweight
Strong and tear-resistant
UV-protected for up to 3 months
Application Area
The product is intended as an underlay on solid wood surfaces. It is used for surface layers such as roofing felt (non-weldable), shingles, profiled sheet metal (non-seamed), and roof tiles (non-flat). The underlay can be used on roof slopes down to 6° (approx. 1:10), where the covering surface layer allows. For battening and exposure without outer roofing, at least 14° (1:4) is required! If battening is needed at a slope below 14° (1:4), it should be done directly in conjunction with the installation of the outer roof. For the minimum thickness of the substrate's wood panel, see table AMA Hus -21, HSD.1331/1. For battened outer roofs, at least 20 mm tongue and groove, and for non-battened, at least 23 mm.
Installation
Preparation:
Installation is done with strips across the direction of the roof slope. Rolling is done from right to left so that the side inside the roll becomes the top side when unrolled. The strips are easiest laid from the bottom and with overlapping subsequent upwards. The substrate should be dry, even, and stable to avoid deflection and movements.
Nailing and seam gluing:
The underlay fabric is mechanically fastened with roofing felt nails min 25 x 2.5 mm or double with staples equivalent to at least Rapid 140/10 or alternatively with larger staples, leg length 12-15 mm, back width 12.4-15 mm, and wire dimension 0.5 x 1.3 mm. The fastening is done at the upper exposed edge of the lower sheet. This edge lacks protective foil. The overlapping sheet is adjusted, fastened, and the protective foil on the adhesive edge at the bottom is removed. Then the overlap is pressed together so that the fastening remains hidden. In case of any transverse joints, approved roofing felt adhesive is used. For more detailed installation instructions and other detailed solutions, see the separate installation guide (included with each roll and in digital format on the website).
Important!
- When covering flat roof tiles, the supplier's guidelines for the underlay must be followed! For unprofiled roof tiles or in wind-exposed areas (near the coast), it is recommended to choose a more secure underlay such as T-Roof Epic.
- The underlay should not be combined with surface layers that are hot air mounted (welded).
- Carefully check the strength of the joint after assembly. Consider adverse weather conditions and ensure any temporary fixing of overlaps or protective covering until the permanent surface layer is installed!
- The adhesive edge has aggressive adhesion under normal conditions! In cooler weather (<+10°C), there may sometimes be a need to improve the adhesion. Use a heat gun and gently heat the adhesive surfaces. Press the seam together carefully! In cool weather, rolls should be stored in a warm place for at least 1 day.
- Be mindful to gently load the surface and immediately repair any damage with roofing felt adhesive
Sealant K-36 or equivalent repair compound for bitumen waterproofing. For larger damage, use and attach/glue a strip from the underlay fabric. - Always cover with the surface layer (tiles, metal sheets, etc.) as soon as possible to avoid exposure to sunlight and adverse weather conditions. During construction, the underlay can be exposed to sunlight for up to a maximum of three months. In the operational stage, the underlay should be protected by the outer roof covering.
- Rolls should be stored upright on a flat, dry surface and protected from sun and precipitation.
- T-Roof Evo is diffusion-tight and when mounted on a wooden substrate, the space underneath should be ventilated according to standard practice.
